night hike & ctmo tour
The monthly Night Hike at Resaca de la Palma State Park includes a hike through some of the park’s nature trails starting at sunset and ends with a tour of UTRGV’s Dr. Cristina V. Torres Memorial Astronomical Observatory hosted by observatory staff and STARS. Note: You must call the park to pre-register for the event!

stargazing classes - tu salud ¡si cuenta!
STARS hosts weekly stargazing classes along the Caracara Trails network in partnership with Tu Salud ¡Si Cuenta! Weekly programs include free outdoor activities open to the public with a goal to promote physical health and mental well-being in the community. Other classes include yoga, nature walks, and kayaking. Note: Classes subject to cancellation depending on weather. Please check TSSC’s social media before attending a session!

brownsville farmers' market
The Brownsville Farmers’ Market is hosted by the Brownsville Wellness Coalition every Saturday at Linear Park, located within Brownsville’s Mitte Cultural District. STARS joins the market every first Saturday (not every Saturday!) to connect with fellow space enthusiasts, talk about upcoming programs and projects, and use our telescopes for Solar observations!
