Carol Lutsinger, the founder of the South Texas Astronomical Society (STARS), is a retired educator with 40 years of teaching and inspiring students in Brownsville, Texas. Her passion for sharing the wonders of space and astronomy has always extended beyond the classroom. Since 1998, she has been the author of the popular “Stargazer” column for The Brownsville Herald. In the past five years, she has also brought her expertise to readers in Harlingen, contributing to both the online and print editions of a local newspaper.
